Our Country

The American people are tired. Tired and frustrated with our government, the two parties, and politics in general. Over the last several years both parties have seen fit to put a lot of energy into blame, passing the buck, and generally wasting time and tax payer money on nothing.

Even now, the parties play the blame game back and forth while Trump chips away at all manner of legislation designed to help the country and the people with a way forward into the future. This isn’t a democrat problem, or a republican problem. This is an american problem, the people’s problem, and you politicians have heaped it upon us for long enough.

Your childish bickering and partisan blockading has done nothing in service of the people. We are tired of hearing that this is the nature of “politics” and government. We are tired of watching you get rich while we toil day in and day out to survive. You are getting rich on the backs of us, the people – you know, the ones you supposedly work for.

Your salaries are excessive and far above a good portion of the people you supposedly work for. You get free healthcare, we do not. You get scores of other benefits, while we have to live through your ill conceived policies and suffer the ramifications of any fall out by your actions.

This needs to stop.

I can appreciate that you are just imperfect men and women, like all of us, but you set yourself apart. You set yourself above the rest and campaigned for the position. Now you must uphold that position with dignity and respect. This isn’t reality TV. This is not Rome. We are not the mob that can be placated with showboating and trumpery.

It is time to start doing the job you were put in office to do. Not act out like petulant children. Examples of behavior unbecoming:

Ted Cruz – reading green eggs and ham

Jim Inhoff- bringing a snowball onto the floor to disprove global warming.

Donald Trump – pick a TV appearance, live broadcast, news article, tweet.

Sarah Palin- enough said.

Ben Carson

The list could go on for eternity, and that is the problem.

Each party has asked what the problem is essentially. They have both stated that there is a need to get in touch with the people and re-establish a grass-roots.
I hate to break it to you, but YOU are the problem. Both parties.

What you have forgotten; and this is very important, is what you are there to do and the seriousness of the job you have. American lives are effected on a daily basis by what you do.
While you play your games, do your little media spots and play for the cameras. Americans bare the brunt. While you continue to push the false narrative of Dems vs Repubs, Americans struggle daily for food, water, shelter, education, healthcare, simple rights as humans, and basic existence.

Your politics is killing America. Your antics erodes this country from the inside like a cancer.

This needs to come to an end.

president trumpI have to admit I am surprised to some degree at how the election turned out. President Trump. Gives me a chill. I’ll have to get this off my chest now; I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again -I truly think many americans were just sold a bill of goods with no actual substance behind it. If you, middle america, were looking for a leader who saw you, who understood your plight and will take steps to make it better, Donald Trump conned you.

For the last several years President Obama has been trying to pass legislation to get infrastructure going – transportation, jobs, spending, etc. and the GOP (Congress) has been shooting it down basically because they didn’t want to tax big business and the rich to pay for it. (source, source) . Meanwhile, you and I pay for it. I am barely breaking even, I can’t afford it – can you ?

They have also been the ones to shoot down a minimum wage hike. This is the party that Trump represents. Please know this- I AM PARTY AGNOSTIC. I don’t care which party is in power as long as they do a good job for the people. I have to say that the GOP has not done a good job by you, by me, or anybody else but the rich and big business. I don’t know about you but my pay has been stagnate for the last several years, yet CEO’s have been making bonuses and ungodly amounts of money while you and I eek by paycheck to paycheck. Trump is not going to fix this. He has no reason to. He has never lived that way, nor has any of the other party members he is now working with.

I know he said he is an “outsider” but he isn’t, not really. I am not saying he is all bad, nobody is. Has he done some good, sure. But there is always more to the story and we owe it to ourselves to look past the shiny outside.  I know the message was good. He said he wants to go after Muslims because they’re the ones that bombed us. But it wasn’t all muslims. It was just a few. Just like all of us aren’t bad, just some. There are millions of people, muslims, just like you and I, who live day in and day out under the threat of violence. Some are poor, jobless, with no prospects in sight, just like you. I know, I know, they aren’t americans, they aren’t you or me, but they are people and they deserve the same decent living you and I have.

ObamaCare – The Affordable Care Act. This one aggravates me. Yeah, rates were going up, but guess what? Those without ObamaCare were seeing a rate hike too. Mine was going up 39% -It isn’t ObamaCare, it’s the money hungry insurance companies that treat our health like a profit margin. ObamaCare at least tried to get them to lower costs and provide insurance for people who couldn’t normally afford it. And guess what? When they started losing money because people in poor health were actually using healthcare to get treatment, they started to pull out, raise rates and cause a fuss. They don’t give a crap about your health and well being, they give a crap about your money. ObamaCare isn’t the problem, they are.

President- Elect Trump said he would make America great again. But he never said how. I can say all day long I’m going to do something but at the end of the day, it’s the how, what, and when that matters. Actions speak louder than words. I truly hope for all our sake, the actions that come are in our best interest.

I could go on, rehash point by point what he has said, what the GOP has said, but honestly, the point is moot.

I have to say I am disappointed. I am disheartened. I am dismayed. I am angry. I do hope those who voted for him are ready to hold him accountable and force him to make good. Force the members of Congress and the Senate to make good. Because if they don’t, we are going to be worse off then we were and we will live to regret this decision. And please, I can’t say this enough – look past your next choice and consider the outcome, your life could depend on it.

PS – watch this and think on it a bit

Ok, here is the 3rd part.

I try to be agnostic. I’ll admit to attempting to be impartial for the most part, though I am sure I fail miserably. Well, I am not going to be impartial right now. Honestly this election has insulted me to the core of my being. And you america, have let me down.

What the ever loving f*** is going on in this country?

I am so sick and tired of all the bullshit. I am tired of the media hype. I am tired of every little thing being blown out of proportion for ratings. I am tired of cheap, imbecilic talking heads, pandering on TV. I am so tired of dull cow eyed, soul deprived meat sacks defending indefensible stances that fly in the face of fact and common sense. It’s like pissing in my face and telling me it’s rain.

I’ll just put this out there, I was a Bernie supporter. I liked his stance on a lot of issues and I thought he could do some good. I will not get into the whole conspiracy blah blah blah and how he got cut out. It is what it is at this point and bitching about it isn’t going to change this fact. But he can still do a lot from where his, fighting the same battles he has been fighting his entire career.

Trump disgusts me.

Not for the philandering, the misogyny, the detestable views he possesses about women, minorities, and pretty much anybody not married to him, related to him, rich, white, or old and privileged. No, it isn’t any of that. It is the bold faced way he tries to speak to and for the common people in this country. The slimy way he tries to pass himself off as one of “us” and tries to identify with our plight, our struggles, and our day to day lives. This is monumentally insulting. He wouldn’t have the faintest idea about any of those things because he has never existed anywhere near those things in daily life. He hasn’t got a single clue on what real life is like for you and I. If anything, he is the epitome of everything you and I have been saying is wrong with this country. He is the sly bullshit artist CEO that cajoles your support for the “company” while screwing you with low pay, little or no bonuses while taking his fat piece of the pie you worked hard to bake. He and his brand are exactly what is wrong with this country. The fat cat rich elite sucking on the teat of our labor. Has he really created jobs ? Or has he created jobs just long enough for him to tank a business and escape with a bonus due to shady business dealings while you and I are left out in the cold. How many small business has he ripped off the years while he robs them of hard worked product saying it was “sub-standard” and then doesn’t pay or pays them much less than they worked for? Tons. This man is the true crook. He is the kind that will screw you to your face while he shakes your hand and pats you on the back. He doesn’t care.

And you eat it up america. Your fear, your reluctance to embrace the one constant in this universe – change. You have given in to the lies. Your religion is not under attack. How can somebody attack a belief system you carry inside of you? We are not one step away from sharia law- and do you even know what sharia law is? All Muslims are not terrorists. There are people of all races and creeds, all over. Welcome to the rest of the planet. Get out of the bubble.

Immigrants are not taking your jobs. They are taking the jobs you aren’t doing. When was the last time you worked in a field picking fruits and veggies ? When was the last time you mowed a lawn that wasn’t your own ? When was the last time you worked a food line at a cafeteria ? Cleaned a hotel room as a maid? Janitor? Day labor at a construction sight?

Is that stunned silence? …I thought so.

Plenty of other things are taking jobs away from you. A lack of education. Lack of development of new skills. Corporations operating in a more global market and honoring their bottom line and earnings declarations for wall street more then valuing creating jobs in our country. Changes in markets far and wide. Industry decline. Trump isn’t going to fix this. He capitalizes on it.

And if you knew anything about government and how it operates, you’d know the president alone cannot fix any of the major issues that have been called out. Much of this work is done in the house and the senate. This is why Trumps constant quips about Hilary not getting anything done is false.

Trump is a Brexit vote and nothing more. He is not the solution. He offers no real solution. He offers no substance.

Stop falling for trumpery.

election 2016

I think I can say that this election has been a first in American history for a multitude of reasons. We’ve had many ups and downs in election 2016. A lot of candidate churn early on, a lot of drama (still going), and what seems to be a fever pitch of turmoil in this country.

Let me set a tone- This election is for the highest seat of power in our country. This is not a popularity contest. This is not a beauty pageant. This is not reality TV. This , above all else, is a for a job. One of service to and for the American People. Government works for us,  and we should make it so and take it seriously.

I want to break things down into two major parts that I think are very important, maybe three… The issues themselves, and us as a people…we’ll see if that 3rd one materializes.

The Issues:

I want to side step all the bullshit for a moment and just get down to the point- Climate change, jobs, taxes, healthcare, security, and our overseas relations with other countries.  Hopefully you will agree that stripped of all the bluster and fan fair, these are the major issues we are voting on. I’ve read through the plans and solutions offered by Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on these issues; and others, and I can’t say it strongly enough – YOU SHOULD AS WELL!!!. While I am no finance guru, I can do math, check information sources, etc., and see if things jive. I can also read a coherently written paper on any topic and understand it. I would strongly recommend you do the leg work and read up.  Keep in mind that each issue by itself does little. This is a system of inter-related items that have direct and indirect consequences on other items, i.e., Focusing on jobs in energy as it is today (coal, natural gas, oil, etc.) will directly effect the climate, directly effect jobs, health, etc. Pushing for clean energy initiatives effects climate, jobs, etc.

I would keep that in mind when reading through these plans and solutions. Also keep a keen eye out for plans and solutions that have that inter-relatedness in mind. There is no one size fits all solution, but there are solutions that can step us into better situations and set a path forward. I am trying to stay agnostic but I’ll insert a little opinion here. I can appreciate that everyone’s current state of being is of the utmost importance. If you are suffering job loss, low income, or bad health right now,  an immediate solution will be very tempting and sound great. But I want to ask you to do something. I want you to move outside of that for just a moment and consider something a little more long term. Sometimes that long term solution can have benefit for us now, we just may not see it due to our current suffering.

We the People:

Here is where the opinions flow a little more freely but hopefully I have rooted them enough in fact that they hit home.

We have let ourselves be duped. We, as a people, have let ourselves be used, pandered to, and blinded by fancy bullshit for a long time. We have allowed ourselves to be emotionally manipulated by fear mongering and hype. We have let ourselves lose sight of what the job of government is and who it works for. We complain about the candidate choices we have, and yet, we are to blame for those choices. We have spent more time getting swept up in reality TV antics then we have conducting a job interview, and that is what an election is..a job interview.

Let’s recap what the job of government is:

To act as defined by and uphold the constitution. – I know, so simple when put like that and I’ll add the will of the people.

And we have to give a nod to state and local governments. They to must act in accordance with the constitution, and the will of the people.

Yes, this is a very cursory summation. What this leaves is a huge opportunity for corruption from local/state on up. We have let this happen. We as a people can’t agree on jack shit, even when things might be in our best interest. If it offends a harbored sensibility then all hell breaks loose. Look at congress. They have pretty much not done the job they were elected to do; and got big bucks with a fat raises, and we let them because they were siding with us on our “hatred” of Obama. So..we let a bunch of “children” throw a tantrum and not do a job they are getting paid for while giving themselves fat raises that come from our hard earned tax dollars..and we are ok with this because they are “on our side”…?
I’ll ask you this…if a person comes up to you on the street and says “man, that boss of yours is an asshole”, of course you agree, and then you two exchange “feelings” of shared contempt for the situation, all the while this person is taking your wallet. Are you are ok with this because of feelings…? Because they made you feel recognized ? That they share your situation?

So here we are, election 2016, two crap choices; three if you really take the libertarian candidates seriously, and we have to choose. On one side we have a career politician who has done some good over time but has been an actor in an overly corrupt system and has taken advantage of being in that system. On the other, we have a career business man, who has never been part of the middle class or a “working” man, has a long history of demonstrated corporate abuses of power with highly questionable and ethically challenged business practices.

All I can say is stop being snowed by the hype, the slight of hand, the constant character assassinations, and judge them on the merit of their proposed solutions. You owe it to yourself to do some leg work and exercise some mental power on what plans will actually work. Which solutions offer you, and the rest of us, some solid ground to move forward with. And make them prove it. For any job interview you have references that can attest to your skill and execution in a related skill set, job field, etc. So, let’s see it. I want the meat of the plans, the details, any previous plans, job execution in previous positions, all of it. Quit the sale pitch and start showing proof.

Why should I give you the job? Don’t tell me you are on my side, you don’t know my side. Don’t tell me you are going to look out for me, I’m an adult and that’s my job. What I want from you is to do your job, you know, the one I hired you for by voting for you.

that third one will have to be another post….

In America; especially after another mass shooting, the debate on gun control is an ongoing battle with no resolution. Gun supporters constantly tout the 2nd amendment and stand rigorously behind the freedom and right to bare arms. They take any move toward the tightening of gun regulations as a move to take away that freedom.

Let’s look at the 2nd amendment in context. It was adopted in December 1791 (over 200 years ago). What was going in America in 1791? America was a fledgling country, ripe from the battle for freedom from English monarchy and tyranny, revolution all over the place, and questing for an identity of it’s own. Pioneers venturing into uncharted portions of the country, battling with native americans in a constant land grab, we new settlers sought out to carve our own bloody path and make our stake in this new country.

Pretty tumultuous and dangerous to say the least. Obviously, given everything that was happening, it seemed appropriate at the time to include some type of self defense measure for the new citizens of this new country.

Fast forward 200 years. We are supposed to be a nation that has evolved, grown up, moved with the times. We are a nation of refined laws and systems of justice and law enforcement that has been forged over the years to adapt to our society and our country. Right ?

Crime is a fact in any reasonably developed nation. We could debate endlessly on causes and effects, ways to address the issue etc. And yes, criminals are armed, some more than others. Guns are tools used to kill things. The gun was not invented as a toy, for sport, or any other casual pastime. It was invented to fight and kill other people. (some firearm history)

I know many gun owners who fancy themselves a conceal carry hero and believe we all need to carry one for protection in general. They feel safer knowing they have it…just in case. Admittedly I am not one, though I know how to shoot and at one point I was rather good at it. I have also worked in industries where it was my job to remove said gun and person holding it for the security of all, and I was always unarmed.

Let’s break that point of view down a bit to practical application. Most gun and safety training offered to civilians covers safe operation of the gun in a controlled environment with some possible simulated situation courses with targets. Law enforcement, military, and affiliated agencies usually receive advanced training, tactical training, etc., which is supposed to prepare them for more egregious situations. These trained professionals deal with these situations as a matter of daily operation and are trained to respond in various fashions to de-escalate the situation and minimize harm to the general populous as well as neutralize the threat.

Even highly trained individuals do not respond in the best way possible in these situations. And these are highly trained individuals with express knowledge geared towards dealing with exceptional situations.

So why do people think they can honestly do a better job than the people that are expressly trained to deal with it?

Let’s take the most recent mass shooting in Orlando. Guy opens fire, mass panic, hail of bullets supposedly, people running, screaming, nobody knows what is actually going on and everyone is in fight or flight mode. How are armed civilians with standard safety training going to be a value add to this situation ? Would they be able to make sense of the situation anymore than the trained professionals responding? Probably not. Would there be a potential for them to be mis-identified as the gunman in all the panic – very likely. Think about it. Law Enforcement is responding, they know who they are -uniforms, badges, etc, they don’t know who you are outside of you being just some yahoo with a gun who may may not be an assailant at that point.

Or, let’s say you had a chance to fire back at the gun man. Can you do it without shooting anyone else in the fray ? Getting yourself killed?

There are also those that want to carry a gun with them everywhere. Seriously? Why? What are you so absolutely paranoid or fearful about that you feel the need to have it on you when you are out and about? To me, a person operating under that level of fear or paranoia is more of a danger then some idiot hopped up on drugs with a gun.

Isn’t it about time we as a people push for more common sense in our gun laws ? The media streams on all sides blow things way out of proportion but the facts are plain, guns kill no matter who has them. There are several other countries who have stripped guns from their lives with no ill effects. No tyranny has over taken them, no mass invasion has left them without a means to defend themselves, criminals haven’t run rampant over the common folk. So what is our problem ? Do we like the mass shootings ? Were the old west movies really that appealing ?

Don’t you think it’s time we got smart and pass some sensible legislation that actually keeps us all safer ?

Republican-and-Democratic-mascotsSince the advent of the “two” party democratic system, the predominant parties have been at odds with each other. Political mudslinging has been a staple in the American political machine since the late 1700’s and hasn’t changed in over 200 years. A sad fact if you think about it.  It has been a common place practice to attack the character of your opponent in most political races. If you can’t beat them flat out on issues of policy and doing the job, start tearing them down on a personal level. And we as Americans have accepted this, even fed into it. The truly disappointing fact is that it works rather well.  Divide and concur has been a long standing rule in any power seeking to undermine and control the people it seeks to subdue (govern), why do we allow it to continue ?

In those 200 years we claim to have evolved and developed a better system compared to anything else out there. So why do we have two political parties that go after each other like school children on the playground?  Seriously, this is the best we can do? This is the better system? If we are above and beyond the rest then why do we still employ mudslinging, character assassination, base emotional manipulation, and divide and concur methods in our governmental/political practices?  I know many will say we have done an awesome job and we have the best country in the world. I would have to answer that retort with a question – do we really ? Can you look at our political system and confidently say that it gets the job done in an efficient, civic minded way ? Are we as a people truly being served by this process and how it works today ?

I don’t think I have seen an issue  handled or broached without some sort of manipulated partisan twist thrown in to garner allegiance to one party or the other in decades. The constant onslaught of “the dem’s are out to hurt women”, “repubs hate the poor, working class”. etc., is mind boggling. If you stand back far enough can you say with any certainty either party has our best interests at heart ? Is this the best example of government for the people, by the people ?

All the infighting and partisan line drawing has netted us what up to this point in time ? Dysfunction. Disarray. Discontent. And a growing apathy with the status quo of our government.

To be frank I could care less about many of the character flaws that are constantly dug up. I think more and more of the people want folks in office who are going to do the job they set out to do and were elected to do.  And that is exactly what it is, a job. We as tax payers are their employers. They were put in the position for two fundamental reasons – they wanted the job and we hired them.

At some point it has to become irrelevant what party they affiliate with and more about if they are the people who are going to do the job right, and actually get it done like they were hired to do. In any other job on the planet they would get fired out right for not doing the job they were hired for. Yes, we could vote them out at the next election but they’re in the job now and will be for a while and they aren’t cutting it. And while they’re not cutting it, they’re drumming up all this drama, all this puffery, all this distraction to keep our eyes on the party line, tied up in the conflict, and diverted away from the real issue – they aren’t doing the job.

We can’t totally blame them, we allow it to continue and we feed it. Billions of dollars of our money gets spent on this grandstanding and crap flinging. Every time I see a politician “stumping” that’s what I picture, a pissed off monkey shrieking and flinging poo at everyone. And we as other monkeys join the fray, jumping and flinging more poo. This is our evolved, better than everyone else system ? This is the result of the two party system, our two party system.

How can we as evolved monkeys, not interested in flinging poo spend our time and money more wisely? Do we allow the partisan back and forth to continue to stall government and waste billions of our hard earned dollars? This isn’t the Presidents fault. This isn’t the Democrats fault. This isn’t the Republicans fault. It is our fault for letting it continue and feeding into it. It is our fault for teaching them that this is the way to get through to us as a people. We all may not agree on everything, it is human nature (we are humans right?) to disagree. Why let them continue to fuel the fight where there isn’t any? Why continue to let them divide us and create conflict where there probably isn’t? Why allow them to stir us up on issues that aren’t theirs to get involved with to begin with?  Why continue to let them do a crap job and get away with it, and all the while lie, cheat, steal, and manipulate us, the people, so we ignore the truth and don’t hold them accountable?

This isn’t grade school. This isn’t a popularity contest. This is a job and they should be interviewed accordingly. I may not like you as a person but if you are qualified to do the job and can do it well, so be it. Why not approach government the same way?

Day Dreaming at Work

I’m sure you’ve read blog’s, news reports, and other media blasts on the poor in america. Some say it’s the “habits” of the poor. Many politicians firmly believe the US government has created a welfare state that has made the poor complacent and content to suck the welfare teat.

Rather than go opinion vs opinion, lets work with facts. I’d like to try basic math and see what we can come up with.

We will have a worker. I’d like to strip our “worker” down to the base, average, run-of-the-mill joe/jane. No rich parents, inheritance, lottery wind-fall, etc. Just Joe Schmoe/Jane Doe plain old human being, high school education. Since this is a perfect world, our worker will also start out with all the basic furnishings. A bed, couch, TV/Radio, pots, pans, silverware, cups, table , chair, lamp.  What do you think..microwave ? Ok, a microwave. We can’t have our worker living in the dark ages. A basic wardrobe with some work acceptable elements.  Sounds like all the modern day creature comforts are accounted for.

Now the job. The minimum wage is $7.25/hr (source here) so we will assume that as a base number going forward. I’ll also say that the average worker puts in at least 40 hours a week, single, no children.

$7.25 x 40=$290

Let’s use a standard two week pay period, and average two pay periods per month. 52 weeks comes to  $15,080 yearly, $1,256 monthly, taxes are 15% -$188, monthly take home is $1,072- you can work that one out on your own.

Gross income is : $1160

Minus taxes (10% source here) -$116

Monthly take home: $928

Many full time workers are eligible for some type of health care from their employers (let’s not consider ACA for the moment) but we’ll leave that out and see how far we get with $928 a month.

Since our worker has all the basic stuff, we’ll need a place to put it. A cheap 1 bedroom efficiency can vary in price depending on where you live in the U.S. but is usually in the $300-$500 range, so we can split the difference at $400. Given acceptable trends in most urban living areas in major cities, the closer in you are, the more you pay. This cheap place isn’t real close and possibly just outside of public transportation lines.

$928

– $400 monthly rent

= $528

Utilities ? We want our worker to have all the frills so- electrical, water, gas, and a land line with local calling only. And in our perfect little world there are no deposits up front, no credit checks.

$528

-$65 electrical ( I have never had or seen a bill this low but it could happen)
-$50 water (usually includes waste disposal)
-$40 gas
-$20 phone

=$353

Our worker does not enjoy a cushy 8-5 work day like you and I, but rather shift work with a changing schedule which renders use of public transportation unlikely much of the time. It’s too far to walk and since the other people around also work or do not have transportation themselves we will need a reliable way to get to work. How about we give them a crap car that a shady friend of a friend sold them for a few hundred as is. (we loaned them the car money at no interest with no time limit on payback)

Most states require at minimum having liability insurance. Lucky us!! We found Billy Bob’s “We got ya covered” insurance plan!! Let’s give our  worker a break and let them have a clean driving record.

$353

-$30 monthly car insurance (your rates may vary, blah blah, read the fine print)

=$323

This mean machine certainly isn’t good on gas and our worker has to get where they are going and not so lucky to live in an area where everything they might ever need is located within a 5 mile radius of home. A driving we will go ….12 miles to the gallon, 10 gallon tank. They drive a bare minimum but have to fill up about 2 times a month; joy rides have to wait for the Christmas bonus. (gas prices may vary)

$323

– $80 gas for car

$243

A worker has to eat but no fancy lunches for our little friend. It’s a daily sack lunch. We want them to at least get some of the basic food groups so an apple, a lunch meat sandwich w/cheese, a juice like drink, a pickle, and maybe a cookie or two. One meal a day certainly isn’t going to give our worker bee enough energy so we’ll need some breakfast. Two eggs, toast with jelly, milk/juice, coffee on occasion. And dinner- Ramen noodles, a burger, misc. veggies, rice, soup. Being presentable and clean is also part of the job so miscellaneous toiletries are on our shopping list as well. As much as our worker wants to eat the all natural, organic food, and use the chemical free soaps, shampoos, etc., it just isn’t in the budget. Thank god for no-name or store brand items. Those are just as good right ?

$243

-$150 a month groceries

$93

Not bad huh? $93 a month left over. If our worker is diligent, stead-fast, and doesn’t spend a penny outside of this budget they should be well on the road to riches right ?

So what’s missing ? We know our mean machine will run flawlessly without ever needing maintenance or breaking. And of course our worker is in tip-top shape so needing health care or visiting a doctor is never going to happen. Thankfully our worker bee gets all the socialization they need on the job so no need to go out and enjoy a movie or a drink or two with friends. This job is absolutely stress free so there isn’t any need for an outlet or hobby. If all goes perfectly at the end of a year our worker will have banked $1116. WOW!!

Our workers income is above the federal poverty average  ( $11,490 for a single individual-source) so they wouldn’t qualify for any type of aid and by that they aren’t pilfering the coffers of the welfare system so life should be good right?

Who let the birds in with our bee ?!?! We suddenly have a child, but our worker bee has been doing such an awesome job that they got a raise to $7.75/hr. Not one day sick or a day off for vacation; or the birth of the mystery child. That got them up to $16,120 a year (52 weeks math). And hey, they are still over the poverty level of $15,510 for a two person household. Kids don’t have any extra expenses, no need for a doctor so health care coverage isn’t necessary. The little progeny is as fit as a fiddle just like our worker bee.

Sounds like easy street to me.
